Support and learning togetherHow to introduce your business without feeling awkward
How do you introduce what you do, simply? A three-step frame, then a place to practise it inside a business network.

How do you introduce your business when the words will not come? Start with three things: who you help, what you offer, and the practical difference it makes. You do not need to tell your whole story.
A florist might say: "I make seasonal bouquets for shops that want a warmer welcome." Adapt that frame to your own work, then ask someone close to you what they remember. That is a good way to adjust the words.
You know your work. And the moment you have to introduce it, the words pile up: I do not know how to explain what I do. That difficulty says nothing about the quality of your work.
A lot of different things sit behind that sentence.
A designer may be looking for a way to present an offer for local organisations. A coach may be looking for the words for the change she supports. A farmer may need to explain a short supply chain. An artist may need to show the value of what she makes. The right starting point is what your work brings to someone.
Do you recognise yourself somewhere in this?
The problem is not you
Few of us were taught to talk about our work clearly, and without embarrassment. Not at school, not at home, not in our first jobs. Talking about yourself, your work, and what it is worth is something you learn. And you learn it by doing it.
A network is a place for that.
Not to perform. Not to have a perfect pitch on day one. To practise in a kind setting, with women who know what it is to search for the words.
What actually happens when you arrive
When you join Power to Network, you do not need a polished speech. You can come before you have even launched. That is expected. It is normal. It is encouraged.
Power to Network is a school-network. You meet people, and you also learn.
What you find:
- Workshops and training, including how to present your work
- Masterminds, where you think out loud with other women
- Group coaching, for the blocks, including the fear of speaking
- Co-working on marketing and your offer, so what you propose becomes clear
- And recommendations from the other members, every week
That last point matters. You do not need an address book for this to work. Recommendations move because members know each other, trust each other, and talk about you, often better than you would yourself at the beginning.
Regular, not perfect
You do not need to be everywhere, or at every event. A few hours a month can be enough to start finding your words, meet people who understand your world, and grow more confident.
In-person meetings are a plus, not an obligation. Online sessions are there too, depending on your plan and the programme. You choose what fits your life, whether you have children, a job on the side, or a week that changes all the time.
One last thing
If you wait for the right pitch, the right presentation, the right moment, you will wait a long time. It does not arrive on its own, in your corner. It comes from practising, listening, testing, and adjusting.
The network is the place where you can do all of that without pressure.
You can see Power to Network before you commit. A free information session runs live every Monday at 11:00, London and Dublin time. You can ask your questions and see if it is for you.
